MLM Lead Generation using Adlandpro

Adlandpro is a web 2.0 social networking community of mostly network marketers and internet marketers; about 58,000 strong presently.

Follow along and I will show you how to generate great MLM leads for your network marketing business.

Get step by step instructions. The same instructions that I have used to teach many people how to use this site.

In addition to creating leads at Adlandpro, you can take this basic plan of action and apply it to many other social networking sites.

Let's get started.

Let's start by getting an account. Go to

Just in case you are wondering, this is not an affiliate link. You may choose to be an Adlandpro affiliate if you like. For me, I am a professional network marketer. I make my money from building my network marketing business.

At the very top of the page, click on "Register". It actually takes you to the login page. Click on "Register" again in the lower part of the login box.

The first thing to do on the registration page is to select "Use my own username" in the username field. Then fill in the "Login Information" and the "Personal Information. In the "Account Options" area, choose "I would like to be your community member and develop peer-to-peer relationships with other members".

Caution #1 - You will be getting a lot of email. You can always come back and change your email address later. I recommend either using an account that you do not mind getting a lot of email on or creating a new free account just for Adlandpro. There will be some of these emails that you do need to read.

Caution #2 - Save your ID, email address, and password that you use.

Click the "Register" button.

When you hit the "Register" button above you will be taken to the Adlandpro setup wizzard.

Click "Next".

Your "Personal Profile" info should be ready to go. If not, fill in the blanks and click "Next"

The "Address" section is required info. Fill it out. People visiting the site will never see this info.

The "Contact" section is optional. Do what you like, then click "Next".

This brings us to "Community Info". This is info that others will see at Adlandpro.

We need to stop here for a quick but important lesson.

Here we are in the "Community Info" section, the section where we will add info for others to see. The people we want to have as a potential lead.

You must be open and truthfull here. So be sure to show your gender and your birthday, including the year of birth and allow your age to be seen.

Then comes the most important part for this section. Your company and company URL. Listen up. This is important. Do not use your company or your company URL here. If you do, you will need huge amounts of traffic to generate leads. Nothing would be a better choice. The best choice would be a site that promotes you or what you can do to help others build their business.

Note the company name. It is not a network marketing company. Note the company URL. It takes you to a page where you can download my free ebook. People who read this ebook tell me that it has saved them years of failure and frustration. I believe it. It did the same for me. Now I build my business easily and consistently. You should check it out too. Right now before you continue.

Don't miss this. #1, you must be open and truthfull. #2, Promote yourself or what you can do to help others build their business.

For the gamblers out there; the only exception may be for those of you promoting programs that are very very new. It is an exception because you can pick up a lot of vistors who think that their best bet is the newest company. Oh, and yes it is gambling because you are gambling that the company you represent will still be around next month or next year instead of building for a lifetime of income.

Let's finish up with the "Community Info" section. Use my profile to help you with the next sections on Industry and Interests. You can always come back and finish these later. Plus there is a quick, easy and better way to fill these out that I will show you later.

Now the "Signature". This is the same as the signature line on emails. You want something short that will catch a person's interest and make them want to click on the link that you add to the signature. Be sure to make the signature link clickable. That is very important.

Finish up by choosing a date format. Leave the boxes as they are. You can always come back and make changes if you like. Click "Next".

Your next step in the Adlandpro setup wizard is the "Your Web Page" section. Here you can create something using html. It can be a letter about what you do. Just add some html code to bold some things and to put some links in.

Or maybe you want to put your previously created webpage in here. This could be as simple as getting your source code and copy and paste it into the window.

You may also want to leave this blank for now and come back later. Check out what other people have done before you decide.

One reminder here; as stated earlier it is not a good idea to promote your business opportunity. Everyone here has one. Promote yourself or how your can help other build their business.

So if you added info then just click "Next" to proceed and if you left the page blank, then click "Skip" to proceed.

It is time to add your picture as we have arrived at the "Add Photo" section. If you have ever added a photo to a site then this is simple. It even comes with instructions.

If you need to resize your picture to meet the site specifications and you do not know how, then I recommend using PIXresizer. Just do a Google search. It is the easiest to use software for this purpose and it is free.

Be sure to include a caption. This goes in the "Description" box.

Please note: If you expect to be successful on Social Networking sites like Adlandpro, a picture is a must have. If you do not have a digital picture on your computer then either get a friend to take a digital picture and put it on your computer or take a regular picture and go down to Walgreens or a similar location and have the picture scanned onto a disk. They will do it for you if you don't know how and it does not cost much.

If you skip this section you must come back and get your picture up.

Now click on the "Next" button if you added a picture or the "Skip" button if you did not.

Now we come to the "Adlandpro Newsletters" and "Adlandpro Opt-in Lists". I suggest you sign up for all of them by checking the box. If you do not like what you get then you can always come back in and change it by unchecking the boxes.

Make your selections and click "Next".

The final section is "Adlandpro Tutorials". These are sent by auto-responder every few days until you have all of each tutorial that you sign up for. When each one has been delivered the messages stop coming.

Again, I suggest that you check the boxes to recieve them all. After completing your choices, click the "Next" button.

This takes you to the "Congratulations" page. Click the "Finish" button to complete the profile tutorial.

Note that you end up in the Networking area. You will see the gray tabs going across the page with the "Networking" tab in blue. You will also see below these tabs, the sub tabs for Networking. We will come back to this page often.

Let's get familiar with Adlandpro now. And we want to go back and touch up our profile before you learn to generate leads. You can't generate leads very well with a bad profile.

You should be on a page that says, "Hello" and your first name. Then "Welcome to Adlandpro Community". If you are not there, then click on the "Networking" tab. It will take you to this page which is the Home Page in the Networking section.

Start by going into the left hand column and cliking on "Account". Sub menu's of "Account will appear underneath "Account".

These are pages to work on your profile. You can click on "Setup", and this will take you through the set up that we just completed, except that when you come to "Interests", it will be different. There will also be a chance to invite your friends.

You can also click on any of the links underneath "Setup" to go directly to the page you want to work on. So check out each one. You are going to want a complete profile before you start generating leads or you will be doing a lot of work with little results.

The link for "Interests" is one you will need to go to, if you took my suggestion to wait for an easier way to fill out your Interests and Industry. So click on "My Interests" now.

You will see a list of categories on the left. "Business" is highlighted now and the categories to the right are sub categories of Business. When you check a box under "Fun", the sub category will be added to your Interests on your profile. When you check a box under "Business", the sub category will be added to Industry in your profile.

After checking the ones you want on your profile, go to the next category. You will get a new list of sub categories that you can check to add to your profile. Go through each category and choose your sub categories for your profile.

Click the "Finalize" button when you are done.

If you skipped over the Photo or Web Page or anything else, then you can click on the appropriate sub headings under "Account" in the left hand margin.

Now, in the left hand margin right above "Account", you will see your name Home. Click there to see your profile. Accross the top of your profile you will see tabs. Click on each one.

The information on your "Profile" tab, your "Web Page" tab, and your "About Me" tab is all from your input. So if something is missing then you need to get it entered.

The other tabs will pick up info from what we do later.

In your profile you have a URL that we entered earlier. Click on the link to see if it takes you to the page you wanted to advertise. If you run into a problem here, the most likely issues are that if you typed the URL in, you made an error. And if you pasted the URL in, you picked up a blank space at the end. Just go back to "Account" and "Personal" to fix the problem.

There is no reason to go forward generating leads without a working link. You need a good profile. Finish it up and we will generate some leads.

OK, If you skipped over the beginning just to get here quick, you will regret it. It is OK to read this first, but go back and read everything befor you start working to generate leads and regret it.

We are still on the "Networking" tab. In the sub tabs below, click on "Reports". The new window will list four reports. The one we are most interested in is the first one, "New Members". So click it.

Now you are taken to a list of the 500 newest members. When the next new person signs up, they go on the top of the list and the 500th person is removed from the list. Usually you will have about ten days of new members here, but I have seen over 500 sign up in one day.

At the top of the list you will see 1 2 3 4 5 -> ->>. The numbers are page numbers. The first arrow moves you to the next page and the double arrow takes you to the last page. Let's click the double arrow and go to the last page. These new member have had more time to create a profile and collect friends.

When you see a ? to the left of the name, they have no picture. There will be a symbol of a person if they do have a picture. Point at their first name and you will see a pop up with their full name. After the name it says "Account created on:" and a date. Self explanitory.

To view a profile, click on the person's first name. Try one.

What you hope to see is a complete profile including a picture, name, age, location, about 20 to 50 friends, and more info. An almost blank profile may be worthless to you. A person who has no friends may not be active. You may see people in a part of the world that you choose not to contact for what ever reason.

You will need to decide which ones to contact and which ones not to contact. If you or short on time, then you will eliminate the profiles that you think may never come back to view your message. Then again, you may be offering something like this HubPage site and the people that really need this info will be easy to start a relationship with.

Let's contact some potential leads now.

You are going to need to decide where you want to work in the list. If you start with the most reason members, you may benefit. Then again, the ones that have had a few days to settle in may be better. You choose. Test. And adjust.

You also need a way to keep track of where you are. I like to work on a day other than the members signing up today. That way I can start with the first member on a date and go through everyone for that date. Again, you choose, test, and adjust.

Looking at the profiles, there are more links right above the tabs on the profile. The one we are interested in right now is "Invite Me To Be Friends" which you will find to the far right. Click on the link.

When you get here there will be a statement that says one of 3 things after telling you the members name and how many friends they have. "You are not a friend of Name" or "You are a friend of Name", or "You have a friend request for Name".

You can only make a friend request one time. If you come to a profile where you already have a request in then you can catch it with these statements instead of wasting time trying to make a new request. If you miss it and try to make a new request it will let you know that you have already done so.

You can change the subject line if you like. I don't. This email is delivered in the Adlandpro system and another email is sent to the email they are using to let them know they have received a friend request.

Create the email that you are going to send and save it on your computer. Copy it when you come here each day to make friend requests and paste it into each message. For best results you will want to put the members name in the email and anytime you see something from their profile that you want to comment on, add that as well.It's all about building relationships.

I recommend keeping the friends letter short. Remember, do not sale. Invite people to be your friend. Start creating the relationship. At the most, put in a link for them to see your blog or something about you or a site where they can get help to build their business.

You want to do this process everyday. And yes it is work. We are doing network marketing, not neteasy marketing. Plan on learning to get fast enough to do a days worth of new member sign ups everyday in under one hour. And don't quit after one day. Commit to do this for a couple of weeks. You will see your lead count increasing over that time. Do not take short cuts. This works. Change it and it may not work.

You have sent your friends email out. When you are new, you can expect to receive several friends letters yourself. After a couple of weeks the numbers will get much smaller.

Think about this. There are over 58,000 members at Adlandpro. You will recieve about 40 requests from people to be your friend. They are doing what you are doing except that half of them will puke all over you with thier best program you have ever seen b.s. You are part of a small group that knows how to use this efffectively.

Login to Adlandpro. Click the "Networking" tab. The page will have a "statistics" box. In that box you will see "Friends to Accept". Click on it. You will see the emails that each of these people have sent you requesting you to be their friend.

If you choose, you can go to the bottom of each email and click "reply". If you reply to them, it will send your reply to their regular email account when it notifies them that you have accepted their request. Decide to reply or not then click the button to accept or decline being friends with each person.

Note that this is the same process that the people you request to be friends will be going through. Most of the email coming from Adlandpro to your regular email is junk because you will be going into your account and seeing everything anyway. But the email that you recieve that is a reply to your friends request is important. It is the only place that you will see the reply. My experience is that if you check all of those emails, only about one in ten will have a reply. Out of those, only about one in three will have a reply that you really need to see. But miss it and you lose a great lead.

You will collect a lot of friends. So what do you do next. You can start a forum. It is included in your free membership. It's easy because there is a Wizard to walk you through it.

Build your forum and all the people on your friends list will get an email inviting them to your forum. Just build a forum they will want to participate in. If it doesn't work the first time then delete it and do another one and keep doing it till you get it right. Or if you become a paid member then you can create multiple forums.

Take a look around to see what else is available. A word of advice. Understand what you are doing. Example: Clasified Ads, as a free member are almost useless. Paid members get moved to the top of the list every hour. So as a free member, you are deep in the list within an hour where not many people will find your ad.

One nice feature is the direct mail for paying members. You can send up to 2000 emails per month to your list. Example, if you have 500 friends then you could send 4 emails each month.

If you decide to be a paying member, then be sure to track your results to see if it is worth it to you. Do that with anything you pay for. By the way, I am a free member at Adlandpro. I get everything I need to create lots of targeted leads as a free member.
